The TRP ratings of the Tamil TV channels have been quite steady after seeing a huge increase in their viewership impressions last week due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. According to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) TV viewership data for this week, Sun TV is the top Tamil TV channel with 1201629K impressions, which is more than twice of its nearest competitor. Sun TV has been the top Tamil TV channel for a really long time now, and in all possibility, it will continue to be in the top position for a long time in the future as well.
KTV has moved-up to second position in the Top-5 TRP rating list this week with 534163K impressions. Zee Tamil, Star Vijay and Star Vijay Super occupy the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively.
Polimer News is the top Tamil news TV channel for this week with 175223K impressions. The positions of the Tamil news channels remain unchanged form last week, but the overall viewership impressions have reduced when compared to last week. However, they are still quite high if we compare the ratings to the pre-corona period.
