TBMAUJ Hindi Movie Review

Introduction:

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles, is a science-fiction comedy movie released this week. TBMAUJ comes across as quite a different kind of film when compared to the recent films done by both Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. This film belongs to an entirely different genre from Shahid's films like Kabir Singh, Jersey, and Bloody Daddy. The movie trailer promised the film to be a complete comedy entertainer. But does the movie actually live up to its expectations? Read our review to find out!

TBMAUJ Movie Review: Non-Spoiler Review

TBMAUJ Review: Plot

TBMAUJ is a romantic love story between a robot and a human. Shahid Kapoor plays the role of Aryan, who falls in love with Sifra (Super Intelligent Female Robot Automation), played by Kriti Sanon. The plot reminds us of the 2010 Tamil film Robot, which was directed by Shankar, in which Chitti, the robot played by Rajinikanth, falls in love with Sana, played by Aishwarya Rai. While the Robot movie had a lot of 'Robot Comedy' in it, similar to TBMAUJ, Robot looked in a completely different direction and was more of an action film. TBMAUJ is a comedy entertainer with a tinge of seriousness.

The comedy in TBMAUJ is mostly situational, and the dialogues help to make the comedy even better. The dialogues themselves, in some of the scenes, are chuckleworthy. At other times, dialogues fall flat. The screenplay is well-handled, quite engaging, and pretty much never allows boredom to seep in. TBMAUJ moves at a steady pace, almost never stagnates, and ends on a high note, leaving the audience with a satisfied feeling.

TBMAUJ feels like a breath of fresh air amongst the slew of hyper-violent films released during the past few months. The film can be watched without being disgusted or shocked by the blood spillage on the screen. For me, it actually felt very good to not see mindless violence, laugh wholeheartedly, and leave the theater in a good mood.

TBMAUJ Review: Cast and Performances:

Shahid Kapoor, the OG lover boy of Bollywood, plays the role of Aryan effortlessly. Shahid Kapoor's performance as Aryan elevates the movie to another level and makes the movie believable. Kriti Sanon, who plays Sifra, does a commendable job at playing a humanoid robot. Her performance, expressions, and dialogue delivery make the audience fall in love with the character of Sifra. The lead pair's superb performance makes you want to invest in the characters and makes the film much more enjoyable.

The other cast members have also acted well and lend their support to the film through their able acting. When it comes to acting performances, there are no weak links in the film.

TBMAUJ Review: Production:

TBMAUJ is a good-looking film. Not just the actors, but also the locations and costumes, make the movie look beautiful. The film appears vibrant and naturally colorful, which is very pleasing to look at. The songs and dance are well-picturized and well-choreographed.

Laxman Utekar, the cinematographer of TBMAUJ, has captured the film beautifully through his able lens.

TBMAUJ Review: Music:

The music by Tanishk Bagchi and Sachin-Jigar isn't loud and syncs very well with the theme of the film. The BGM adds to the feel of the film and makes it enjoyable.

TBMAUJ Review: What to Expect?

First thing, the comedy in TBMAUJ is not "mindless." Expect a character-driven comedy that is pretty much snuggly fit to the story.

TBMAUJ Review: Conclusion:

Even with a runtime of 143 minutes, TBMAUJ manages to keep the audience engaged most of the time. TBMAUJ is a fine comedy entertainer, which makes for a good weekend watch.
