Upadhyaksha, featuring Chikkanna and Malaika Vasupal in the lead roles, was released on 26th January 2024 in Karnataka and had a good start at the Sandalwood box office. Upadhyaksha is a comedy movie directed by Anil Kumar TM.

Upadhyaksha Day 1 Box Office Collection: Among the many Kannada movies that released this week at the Sandalwood box office, Upadhyaksha is one of the two films that received a wider release all across Karnataka. The Kannada film that got the widest release this week was Bachelor Party.
Upadhyaksha is released in 56 properties (26 single screens + 30 multiplexes) in Bangalore, and was alloted a total of 120 shows on Day 1. The average overall occupacy throught the day for Friday (Day 1) is around ~50%, which is impressive for a first-time lead actor Chikkanna. Upadhyaksha collected around an estimated 50 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated 80 lakhs all-over Karnataka. The movie has got a good start, and the number of shows for Upadhyaksha have increased for Day 2 after seeing the good audience responce. At the time of publishing this report, Upadhyaksha's show count for Day 2 saw an increase by 30 shows from 120 on Day 1 to 150 for Day 2 in Bangalore. Upadhyaksha Day 2 Box Office Collection: On Day 2 (Saturday), Upadhyaksha ran in 60 properties (30 single screens + 30 multiplexes) in Bangalore, and was alloted a total of 160 shows, which is an increase from 1st day. The average overall occupacy throught the day for Saturday (Day 2) is around ~55%. Upadhyaksha collected around an estimated 75 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated 1 crore 10 lakhs all-over Karnataka. The movie has grown by around 35-40% on Saturday and looks to collect big on Sunday.
Upadhyaksha Day 3 Box Office Collection: On Day 3 (Sunday), Upadhyaksha ran in 62 properties (31 single screens + 31 multiplexes) in Bangalore, and was alloted a total of 167 shows, which is an increase from 1st and 2nd day. The average overall occupacy throught the day for Sunday (Day 3) is around ~65%. Upadhyaksha collected around an estimated 90 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated 1 crore 50 lakhs all-over Karnataka. Upadhyaksha has struck gold on Sunday and was clearly ahead of another Kannada release called 'Bachelor Party', but tomorrow is the real test for Upadhyaksha at the Sandalwood box office.

The average overall occupacy per show throught the day for Monday (Day 4) is around ~35%. Upadhyaksha collected around an estimated 40 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated 65 lakhs all-over Karnataka.
Upadhyaksha Day 5 Box Office Collection: On Day 5 (Tuesday), Upadhyaksha ran in 62 properties (31 single screens + 31 multiplexes) in Bangalore, and was alloted a total of 179 shows. The average overall occupacy per show throught the day for Tuesday (Day 5) is around ~25%. Upadhyaksha collected around an estimated 35 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated 55 lakhs all-over Karnataka.
Upadhyaksha Day 6 Box Office Collection: On Day 6 (Wednesday), Upadhyaksha ran in 62 properties (31 single screens + 31 multiplexes) in Bangalore, and was alloted a total of 181 shows. The average overall occupacy per show throught the day for Wednesday (Day 6) is almost the same as yesterday which is around ~25%. The film is holding really well at the box office in the weekdays, which shows a strong trend. Upadhyaksha's collections should again increase in its second weekend as there are no big releases at the box office this coming Friday. Upadhyaksha collected around an estimated 30 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated 50 lakhs all-over Karnataka.

The number of alloted properties and shows are the highest since its release. The average occupacy per show throught the day for second Friday (Day 8) is around ~20%. Upadhyaksha Day 9 Box Office Collection: On Day 9 (Second Saturday), Upadhyaksha ran in 79 properties (41 single screens + 38 multiplexes) in Bangalore, and was alloted a total of 218 shows. The average occupacy per show throught the day for second Saturday (Day 9) is around ~35%. Upadhyaksha nearly doubled its yesterday's collection as it collected around an estimated ~60 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated ~90 lakhs all-over Karnataka.
Upadhyaksha Day 10 Box Office Collection: On Day 10 (Second Sunday), Upadhyaksha ran in 79 properties (41 single screens + 38 multiplexes) in Bangalore, and was alloted a total of 237 shows. The average occupacy per show throught the day for second Sunday (Day 10) is around ~40-45%. Upadhyaksha saw around ~35% jump in its collections today vis-à-vis yesterday as it collected around an estimated ~80 lakhs in Bangalore, and around an estimated ~1 crore 25 lakhs all-over Karnataka. The second weekend box office total for Upadhyaksha stands at around ~2.65 crores.
Upadhyaksha Day 11 Box Office Collection: Upadhyaksha was exhibited in the same number of properties as of yesterday. In Bangalore, the film had 230 shows and the per show occupancy was around ~10-15%. The 11th day box office collection of Upadhyaksha is around an estimated ~20 lakhs in Bangalore, and ~30 lakhs all-over Karnataka.
Upadhyaksha 3rd Weekend Box Office Collection Update: Upadhyaksha had another good weekend, as its third weekend collections are better than the first weekend collections of all new releases at the Sandalwood box office. Upadhyaksha has beaten the first weekend collection of Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, which also had a good first weekend but couldn't beat Upadhyaksha. The 3rd weekend box office collection of Upadhyaksha is around an estimated ~90 lakhs in Bangalore, and ~1.35 crores all-over Karnataka.
Upadhyaksha 3rd Week Box Office Collection Update: Upadhyaksha, in its 3rd week, collected around 1.25 to 1.30 cr. in Bangalore, and close to ~2 crores all-over Karnataka.
