Adyaksha In America Collection
Adhyaksha In America; HIT or FLOP?The Kannada movie, 'Adhyaksha In America', featuring actors Sharan and Ragini Dwivedi in the lead roles, was released on Friday 4th October. The film is an apparent sequel to the 2014 Kannada HIT film 'Adhyaksha' which featured Sharan in the lead role. But, this film is reportedly not actually a sequel, but a separate film with a different theme. Seems the makers wanted to cash-in on the popularity of the 2014 HIT film 'Adhyaksha', hence the similar title.
'Adhyaksha In America' got off to a decent start at the Sandalwood Box Office, which is considering the face-value of the film. But, still the Day 1 collection is quite underwhelming, as the trade was expecting the film to do better. The first day collection of 'Adhyaksha In America' is a lot less when compared to Sharan's previous film 'Victory 2', which had collected close to 1 crore on its first day. 'Adhyaksha In America' collected around ~18 lakhs on its opening day, which is 5 times lesser than Sharan's last film 'Victory 2'. The release of big-star big-budget movies from other film industries like 'Sye Raa' and 'War', just two days before 'Adhyaksha In America's release, appears to have impacted 'Adhyaksha In America' at the box office.
The film is released in the Dasara holidays season in Karnataka, and the holidays release definitely benefited the film, specially in the weekends and on the days of 'Ayudha Puje' and 'Vijaya Dashami'. The collections saw a good rise in the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and held-well on Monday & Tuesday. The film obviuosly dropped post-holidays on Wednesday, but it was a regular drop, nothing worrisome. 'Adhyaksha In America' should easily see another good rise in its second weekend at the box office, as no big banner Kannada films were released this Friday, and only a few small-scale releases saw the day light at the box office. But, because of the low opening, 'Adhyaksha In America' at best can be 'average', if it holds-well in the days coming.
'Adhyaksha In America' is actor Sharan's first movie release of 2019. His previous film was 'Victory 2' which was released in November 2018.

'Adhyaksha In America' opened to mixed reviews from the critics, and the audience word-of-mouth is mixed as well, going by our audience response samples collected at the multiplexes in the first two days.
