Will The Sequel Bade Miyan Chote Miyan 2 Ever Be Produced? Are BMCM 2 Plans Cancelled?
Before the release of the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, at one of the promotional events, the lead antagonist of the film, Prithviraj Sukumaran, made a statement that BMCM was intended to be a franchise and that there would be a second installment of BMCM. Are the plans still on?
The big-budget action movie BMCM, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, was released in theaters on April 11, 2024. The movie was released on the occasion of EID, which is a national holiday. Riding on a high budget and being an action film, the film was expected to have a good opening at the box office. Alas, the movie is turning out to be one of the biggest box office disasters. BMCM 2 Budget, Cast & Release Date: Analysis
With the first part turning out to be a collosal disaster at the box office, producing a sequel to a failed film doesn't seem to be a good idea. And if the producers are wise, which I am assuming they are, they would scrap any plans to make any film even remotely connected with this film. But you never know, we might actually see BMCM 2 get made and released at the theatres. So, if BMCM 2 ever gets made, what could be the budget? Who would be part of the cast? Let's analyse.
Even with an enormous budget of, reportedly, 350 crores, the film couldn't find success at the box office. So, to make sure the sequel succeeds at the box office, the producers may increase the budget to 600 crores and add one more lead actor along with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, like superstar Arjun Kapoor, or producer Jackky Bhagnani might himself feature as a lead actor to ensure the film's success.
Will Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff reprise their respective roles in BMCM 2? Looks unlikely. May be Tiger Shroff may say yes, as anyway he features in a lot of flop films, so it may not make much difference to him. This line of argument can also be applied to Akshay Kumar, as his recent films have been box office flops, and if good money is offered, he may say yes to BMCM 2.
BMCM clashed with Ajay Devgn's Maidaan at the box office during EID. Maidaan, like BMCM, is also turning out to be a box office failure. Both the films are sinking together at the box office.
If BMCM 2 project doesn't get shelved, and if the makers decide to go ahead with the project, then the sequel might release in the year 2026. If Ali Abbas Zafar, who directed the first part, doesn't return to direct the sequel, then, we feel, director Farhad Samji may direct BMCM 2.
