The first day advance ticket booking for the film 'Mission Mangal' has been excellent so far. The ticket sales has been very good universally across all the cities and the towns, from the mulitplexes to the single screens. 'Mission Mangal' has the most number of shows in Mumbai, where ~37.2% of the seats have been booked from 930 shows. All the metros have been equally good, and even the places like Lucknow, Jaipur, Bhopal and Patna also have very good advance booking figures. The advance booking for 'Mission Mangal' is far ahead of 'Batla House' which is also releasing on the same day. Going by the advance booking figures, the first day box office collection of 'Mission Mangal' can be in the range of 27-28 crores, and has the potential to breach the 30 crore mark if it sees a good surge in spot booking tomorrow.

SEE - Batla House Screen Count & Advance Booking Report

'Mission Mangal' is releasing alongside another Bollywood film named 'Batla House'. Among the two new Bollywood releases, 'Mission Mangal' has managed to get a significantly higher number of screens than 'Batla House'. 'Mission Mangal' has around an estimated ~3100 screens, while 'Batla House' has around an estimated ~2000 screens. It's once again Akshay Kumar vs John Abraham on 15 Aug at the box office, but, unlike the last year's Independence Day clash where 'Satyameva Jayate' had managed to give 'Gold' a run for its money, 'Batla House' may not be able to do that this time against 'Mission Mangal'. 'Satyameva Jayate' had all the looks of a typical masala-action film and a solid backing from the single screens, but 'Batla House' seems to be a more polished product which tilts towards being more of a multiplex film than a screen screen entertainer. And, this is where the problem might arise for 'Batla House', if the single screen audience don't embrace the film, then 'Mission Mangal' will take 'Batla House' to the cleaners at the multiplexes as 'Mission Mangal' is already distantly ahead of 'Batla House' in advance booking specially at the multiplexes. After the opening day, both the films will be quite reliant on the audience word-of-mouth specially 'Batla House'. Both the films have a good shot at making a good return of their investments, and they will get a good two week free-run at the box office till 'Saaho' arrives on 30 Aug.
