'Gulabo Sitabo', the comedy-drama film featuring actors Ayushman Khurana and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles, was released world-wide on Friday 12th June 2020, and is being met with decent-good audience response. Amazon Prime Video has the digital streaming rights of the film. And, unlike the conventional release in the theatres, 'Gulabo Sitabo' is released directly on digital platform Amazon Prime Video. The coronavirus pandemic and the resultant closure of the movie-halls across the country, has forced the makers to release the film direct to OTT by skipping the theatrical release. The film which was earlier scheduled for release in the cinema-halls, is now directly available for online streaming on PrimeVideo.
Therefore, there will be no box-office collection for 'Gulabo Sitabo'. The box office collection of 'Gulabo Sitabo' will be nil. But, the film reportedly made profits by selling of its digital rights, satellite rights and music rights. The satellite rights of 'Gulabo Sitabo' are with SONY.
The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar, and opened to average-to-good critical reception.
