Ae Dil Hai Mushkil / ADHM Movie Review

Karan Johar is back with another romantic emotional drama, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. ADHM is written, directed and produced by Karan Johar.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is Karan Johar's seventh film as a director. And Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shares the screen space for the first time with Ranbir Kapoor. ADHM's trailer and songs had an amazing response. Let's find out how the movie is, in this review of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The story of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil revolves around Ayaan (Ranbir) and Alizeh (Anushka).

Ayaan and Alizeh meet and they instantly bond with each other and become best friends. Ayaan falls in love with Alizeh, but Alizeh doesn't want any change in their relationship and wants to continue being friends. But somewhere inside, Alizeh also loves Ayaan, but she believes friends should just be friends.

Alizeh's Ex-boyfriend DJ Ali comes back into the life of Alizeh and things start falling apart between Ayaan and Alizeh and they both end their relationship. And with Saba(Aishwarya) entering the scene, things get more tangled. Ayaan meets Saba; Saba is also heartbroken and they instantly connect with each other. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

The story of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is narrated from Ayaan's perspective.

The movie makes you care and feel for the characters and you easily connect with the film. ADHM tends to get slow at times, but the story, music and powerful acting performances keeps you engaged.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a carefully constructed movie. In the hands of an able director like Karan Johar, ADHM comes out as a sublime film. There are no weak links in this movie. Everything from direction, screenplay, dialogues to cinematography and music, are exceptional and mix together very well, making ADHM a fine film.

I usually don't like when there are songs in any movie, they slow things down and stop the flow of the movie. But that is not the case with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The songs blend very well with the movie and each song has its own flavour & emotion that you want to come back, watch this movie again just for the songs. Pritam has done an excellent job composing the music. Hats off to him.

Watching and listening to the title track of ADHM, I got goosebumps all over me and I was soaked in emotions. And Arijit Singh, what a wonderful voice he has got, and an equally amazing singing makes this track much more effective.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is an emotional roller coaster ride. It gives you hearty laughs, goosebumps, moist eyes, lump in the throat and emotions that you cannot put into words. Coming out of the theatre after watching ADHM, you feel like you have orgasmed after a satisfactory session of passionate love making!

Those who are in a relationship, who have broken-up, who are yet to get into a relationship; shouldn't miss this movie.
