The action-thriller film, Blank, featuring Sunny Deol and Karan Kapadia in the lead roles, opened to a below-average response at the box office. The film started its box office campaign on a poor note, by collecting just around ~75 cr. on its first day. This poor show at the box office shows the limited audience interest in this film, that is despite Akshay Kumar doing a dance number for the film. Blank was extensively promoted on the social media, but that has failed to convert into footfalls at the box office.
The film was promoted as a 'Karan Kapadia film', with Sunny Deol in the supporting role. The newcomer actor, Karan Kapadia, was given a lot prominence in the promos and ads over Sunny Deol, and the spot light was firmly on Karan Kapadia, as it was supposed to be his launch vehicle into Bollywood. Had the film been promoted as a 'Sunny Deol film', it would've had a much better opening at the box office.
The film opened to poor reviews from the critics, which further added to the film's misery. The audience word-of-mouth was mixed, going by the initial reports from the cinemas. Another film, Setters, which released alongside 'Blank', performed worse than Blank at the box office, as it collected only around an estimated ~10 lakhs on its first day.
End of 2nd Week Update: Blank's collections went down heavily as it took a nosedive at the box office. The film had collected around ~5 crores in its first week. The second week collections are a mere ~25 lakhs. Blank suffered around ~95% drop from Week 1 to Week 2. This also almost puts an end to Blank run at the box office.
