De De Pyar De Critic Reviews & Ratings

Overall, DDPD is a fun ride that reinstates the fact that when it comes to love, age is just a number.

  • CNN News18 | Review By - Rajeev Masand | Rating-2.5/5
Ultimately, watching De De Pyaar De is a frustrating experience because while there are things to admire, including the unconventional ending, there is no escape from the lazy stereotypes, the simplistic moralising, and the episodic, sitcom-style screenplay.

You wish the film had been braver in its intention of creating a really cracking rom-com, instead of playing its clich├ęs for a laugh.

The usual alpha male, Ajay Devgn, plays it uncharacteristically calm in the film as most of the good stuff comes from Tabu, who wields the word ‘dal’ like a loaded gun.

  • Rediff | Review By - Sukanya Verma | Rating-2/5
Propelled by hypocrisy and deceit at every turn, De De Pyaar De resorts to the age-old pretext of cold feet and lies to slump into a modern family mockery.

  • Mid Day | Review By - Mayank Shekhar | Rating-1.5/5
Not talking about songs, and dance. That has its own place. The film just stops being about a relationship; let alone romance, or comedy.

Akiv Ali and Luv Ranjan know precisely what each scene in this film is supposed to do and score largely for the tropes they don’t introduce to this story.

  • DNA | Review By - Meena Iyer | Rating-3.5/5
Overall, it’s an enjoyable family watch; the frailties in human relationships are nicely captured.

On the whole, DE DE PYAAR DE is a paisa vasool entertainer with plenty of laugh aloud moments and strong emotions as its USP.

  • Gulf News | Review By - Manjusha Radhakrishnan | Rating-3/5
While majority of the film is immensely entertaining, a few twists in the second half seem laboured and bizarre.

Overall Average Rating - 2.8/5
