It tries to throw light on serious issues with lighter moments, but gets tangled in a melodramatic and unrealistic narrative.

Each minute of Jabariya Jodi, one as baffling as the other, feels like a lifetime wasted.

From start to finish, there’s isn’t a single shred of conviction on display. The result is a confused, unpleasing, long-drawn mess, which the viewers will 'jabariya' have to sit through.

In the inexplicably convoluted and unforgivably long Jabariya Jodi, inimical ideas are forced ed together in much the same way as unwilling men and women are bullied into matrimony.

Sidharth and Parineeti’s bogus accents, body language and demeanor don’t allow them to blend into this small-town story.

  • Rediff | Review By - Sukanya Verma | Rating-2/5
Jabariya Jodi’s haphazard structure and misplaced enthusiasm allows it to be multiple things yet lead to nothing.

Jabariya Jodi could have been that film but, alas, it is as flavourless as the ‘litti chokha’ served on pristine white ceramic plates.

Jabariya Jodi tries to be a rom-com with a difference and had they put in a little more attention to details, the film would have creatively been the better for it.

The second half can only be summarised as sappy, scattered and one that may warrant a Saridon.

Jabariya Jodi is a decent entertainer and works because of the novel idea of forced marriages, performances and hilarious and witty dialogues.

Take the plunge if you are a fan of Chopra and put a ring on it only if you are a glutton for half-baked ideas that don’t materialise fully.
