'Mission Mangal', the space drama film featuring actor Akshay Kumar in the lead role, made its television debut on 20th October, around 2 months after its theatrical release. Before its TV debut, 'Mission Mangal' was released on the digital platform named 'Hotstar'. The film also features actors Sharman Joshi, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kriti Kulhari and Nithya Menen in notable roles. 'Mission Mangal' was a success at the box office.
On its TV debut, 'Mission Mangal' was telecasted simultaneously on both Star Plus and Star Gold at 12 PM Sunday 20th Oct. The afternoon slots during holidays is the preferred time for almost all the movie television premieres. The film received good response from the TV audience and gathered good number of viewership impressions on its inaugural showing on TV. On the same day, actor Salman Khan starrer 'Bharat' also made its TV debut on channel Zee Cinema in the late-evening slot of 8 PM.
According to the 'Broadcast Audience Research Council' also known as 'BARC', the TV premiere of 'Mission Mangal' got around 56.96 lakh impressions on Star Gold alone.
