The box office blockbuster film, 'Kabir Singh', starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles made its television debut on Sunday 29th September on Sony Network's dedicated movie channel, Sony Max. The film was telecasted on 12 o'clock in the afternoon, which is a known time-slot for most viewership impressions for movie telecasts on a Holiday. And, also most of the WTPs (World Television Premiere) and FTTs (First Time on Television) are telecasted in the afternoon slots during holidays to get the most number of viewers.
'Kabir Singh' got a decent-good response from the TV audience on its first airing, but the response is kind of underwhelming considering the humongous business the film did in its lifetime at the box office. Seems the TV audience were not really that exited to the levels of the movie-going audience.
According to the 'Broadcast Audience Research Council' also known as 'BARC', 'Kabir Singh' had around ~65 lakh impressions on Sony Max. The WTP (World Television Premiere) of movie 'Super 30' which was telecasted on the previous Sunday (22 Sep) afternoon (1 PM) on Star Gold had got a better response from the TV viewers. 'Super 30' had gathered around ~87 lakh impressions on Star Gold. And, unlike 'Kabir Singh' which was aired only on one channel, Sony Max, 'Super 30' was aired simultaneously on both Star Gold and Star Plus. So, 'Super 30' had in fact got a lot better response on TV on its first airing compared to 'Kabir Singh'.
