The 3rd installment in the 'Hit' action film franchise, 'Baaghi 3, starring actor Tiger Shroff in the lead role, is all-set to hit the screens on Friday, 6th March. Both the previous two films in the 'Baaghi' franchise were box office successes, specially the second 'Baaghi' film which took everyone by surprise. Can the third part match-up to 'Baaghi 2's box office accomplishments? Or is there something else in store for 'Baaghi 3' at the box office? We will have to wait and watch. In this article, we will discuss the box office prospects, and predict the opening day collection of 'Baaghi 3'.
'Baaghi 3' is the solo Bollywood release at the box office on March 6. And, there will not be any major competitors to the film at the ticket counters when it releases. The holdover releases, at the time of 'Baaghi 3's release, like 'Love Aaj Kal', 'Bhoot: The Haunted Ship', 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' and 'Thappad' would've slowed down considerably, to pose any threat to 'Baaghi 3'. And moreover, all those films are multiplex-oriented films which mostly target the urban audience, and 'Baaghi 3' has huge prospects at the single screens along with the multiplexes. Also, they are smaller films when compared to 'Baaghi 3' in terms of the budget, release scale and star cast.
Along with the 'mass' flavour at its core, 'Baaghi 3' also has an apparent universal appeal catering to most of the movie-going audience mostly the youth, like all the big-budget action films do. And also, there aren't any big film releases after 'Baaghi 3's release until the release of actor Akshay Kumar starrer 'Sooryavanshi' on March 27. So, 'Baaghi 3' will get an almost free-run for three weeks at the box office. The film has a clear path ahead at the box office, and it only has to be a decent product to make the most.
Along with actor Tiger Shroff, who is the face of the franchise, 'Baaghi 3' also stars actress Shraddha Kapoor as its female lead, who is returning to the franchise after skipping the second installment. And, her inclusion in the film slightly ups the face-value of the product. There is also actor Riteish Deshmukh in the film, but he has been cast in pretty much a worthless role. Unlike 'Baaghi 2', which had a good supporting cast in both positive and negative characters (like Manoj Bajpayee and Randeep Hooda) which kind of uplifted the film's overall outlook, 'Baaghi 3's supporting cast is comparatively nameless.
The trailer of 'Baaghi 3' has been released, and it promises an entertaining action film with quite an impressive set of action sequences and stunts, which is now a norm with Tiger Shroff's action films. But, if we go by the trailer, the story appears to be the same old formulaic recycled action film story, which can act as a weak link for the film. Nevertheless, the film will reach its intended target audience. But honestly, the trailer of 'Baaghi 2' was better than this trailer, as it was relatively more intriguing and looked a more all-round product.

The film will obviously open big, and anything similar to 'Baaghi 2's opening figure would be a good result. 'Baaghi' first part had taken an opening of around ~12 crores, and 'Baaghi 2' had surprised everyone by taking an opening of around 25 crores. 'Baaghi 3' should definitely look to open bigger than 'Baaghi 2', which would be an excellent start to its box office campaign. And, needless to say, if the film gets a thumbs-up from the audience, then it will be another HIT film for Tiger Shroff.
'Baaghi 3' has high expectations around it, and we have to wait to see if the film can live-up to the expectations. Update: The film is gaining good traction as it nears its release date, and the advance booking has also been opened on Sunday, albeit partly, with 5 days to go for the release.With only one clean-Hit so far in 2020, the box office is looking forward to another big success in 'Baaghi 3'. On the whole, going by the current buzz and hype, we predict that 'Baaghi 3' might collect around 25-27 crores on its first day at the box office.
Update 2: Going by the advance booking report, the film, at best, can only reach up to 20 crores on its opening day.

'Baaghi 3' will be the solo release of the week, and it should have no problems in getting the desired numbers of screens.
