Bhoot Part-1 Box Office Notes

Opening Note - 'Bhoot Part-1' took a decent-good opening of around 4.50 crores on Friday, and the opening day figure is pretty much on the expected lines. However, the film should have opened slightly better, as Friday was a holiday in many states due to 'Maha Shivratri'. But, also considering the fact that the film was in a direct clash with Ayushman Khurana's comedy film 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan', and 'Bhoot Part-1' being a horror genre film, the first day collection of 'Bhoot' is actually quite good. The last time a straight-up horror movie (not horror-comedy like 'Stree') that took an opening of above 5 crores was 'Raaz Reboot' back in 2016. And, later in 2018 Anushka Sharma's 'Pari' had taken an opening of 4 crores. All the other horror films since the last 4 years or so, have struggled to even reach the 1.50 crore mark. So, 'Bhoot' has done a good job on Day-1, and we have to wait to see how the film performs on Saturday and Sunday. The film opened to not-so-positive reviews from the critics, and the initial audience word-of-mouth is thoroughly mixed.

Day 2 Saturday Collection: 'Bhoot' grew by around a reasonably decent 5-10% on Saturday, keeping in mind that the film is coming after a holiday on Friday. The film collected around 4.85 crores on Day 2, which takes the overall two days box-office total to 9.35 crores.

Day 3 Sunday Collection: 'Bhoot' showed a slight dip on Sunday vis-à-vis Saturday. The film collected around 4.75 crores on Sunday, which takes the first weekend total to 14.10 crores.

1st Week Collection Update: 'Bhoot' had a decent first week, as it collected approx 21 crores at the box office, which is quite decent-good for a horror movie with limited face-value. The film's fate depends upon the second week collections.

2nd Friday Collection: 'Bhoot' dropped by around 35-40% on its second Friday vis-à-vis Thursday. The film collected around 95 lakhs on Day-8, which takes the overall eight days total to around 21.90 crores.

2nd Saturday Update: The film collected around 1.40 crores on Day-9. The total collection stands at 23.30 crores.

2nd Weekend Collection: 'Bhoot Part 1: The Haunted Ship' had a mediocre second weekend, as the film's collection dropped by more than 70% when compared to the first weekend. 'Bhoot' collected around 1.60 crores on its second Sunday, which takes the overall 2nd weekend collection to approx 4 crores. The total 10 days box office collection of 'Bhoot' stands at around ~25 crores.

2nd Week Collection: 'Bhoot' collected around 6.55 crores in its second week, which is around 70% drop when compared to the first week collections. The film has collected approx 27.50 crores till date at the box office. And, it may only add another 2-3 crores maximum to its current total.

3rd Week Collection: 'Bhoot: The Haunted Ship' collected around 1.55 crores in its third week, taking its overall box office collection till date to approx 29 crores. The film won't be adding much to the current total in its fourth week, as the film is already out of the majority of its initial screens and also most of the theaters are going to be closed in the coming weeks due to corona-virus precaution. Vicky Kaushal's 'Bhoot Part 1' is a box office Flop.
