Yes, the movie did show some potential in the second half, but at 2 hours and 17 minutes, 'Bypass Road' is a tedious watch.

The plot is convoluted. The proceedings are confused. The bit of menace generated by the cat-and-mouse chase in the house is diluted by weak strands which add nothing to the main act.

The flashbacks that are meant to jolt viewers out of their comfort zone are sometimes effective, but eventually end up stretching the narrative beyond acceptable limits.

Perhaps it isn’t such a good idea to let an actor write a script, play the lead role, co-produce the film and have his brother direct it, because then what you get isn’t a film, it’s a showreel.

Carving possible suspects in suspense killers is an art and Naman (director) and Neil Nitin Mukesh (story, screenplay and dialogue) aren’t artists.
