'83', the sports-biographical film based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup win of the Indian cricket team, was all-set for its theatrical release on 10th April 2020. But, the coronavirus pandemic, which caused the nation-wide lock-down, forced the film to miss its scheduled box office release date. The film features actor Ranveer Singh in the lead role, who plays the character of real life former cricketer Kapil Dev. Kapil Dev was the captain of the Indian cricket team when it won the World Cup in 1983. The film also features actress Deepika Padukone playing the role of the film's lead character's wife; the actress is also the real-life wife of lead actor Ranveer Singh.
The OTT platform Netflix has acquired the digital rights of the film, which makes it the online streaming partner of '83' movie. We will update the Digital Premiere date of '83' at the earliest once it is announced.
The trailer of '83' movie is yet to released, but the first look posters of the film have been quite impressive. The make-overs of the actors through make-up, to make them look like their real-life counterparts, are pretty good.

The satellite rights of the film have been acquired by Star Gold. The date of the TV premiere of the film is yet to be announced, as the movie is yet to witness its initial box-office release.. We will post the World TV Premiere date of '83' once it is announced. The film will be first available on the streaming platform Netflix for online streaming for its subscribers, and later it will be premiered on Star Gold.
