Avane Srimannarayana Total Box Office Collection Till Date

'Avane Srimannarayana', the Kannada action-adventure film featuring actor Rakshit Shetty in the lead role, started it box office campaign on a good note. The film was originally supposed to release in 5 languages simultaneously, but because of reasons unknown to us, only the Kannada version was released on this Friday (27 Dec). And, each of the dubbed versions have been given different release dates. 'Avane Srimannarayana' aka ASN is the last Kannada release of the year 2019. The film was practically a solo release at the Kannada box office, as there was only one more release named 'Baddi Magan Lifu' which is a small-scaled release and almost a box office non-entity. 'Avane Srimannarayana' was allotted a good number of screens and shows, and the film made complete use of its allotted screens/shows specially at the multiplexes, as most of them ran to packed houses.

'Avane Srimannarayana' collected around an estimated ~4.75 crores on its first day at the Sandalwood box office, which makes it the 3rd HIGHEST opening Kannada film of 2019 after 'Kurukshetra' and 'Pailwaan'.

Here are the Highest Opening Kannada Films of 2019:
(Note: Kannada version only)

1. Kurukshetra - 7.75 cr.
2. Pailwaan - 7.00 cr.
3. Avane Srimannarayana - 4.75 cr.
4. Yajamana - 4.00 cr.
5. Natasaarvabhowma - 3.50 cr.
6. Odeya - 2.50 cr.
7. Bharaate - 1.50 cr.

'Avane Srimannarayana' had created a lot of buzz before its release because of its supposed 'pan-India' release, and also because of its publicity materials like poster, promos and trailer. The main reason for the big hype and pre-release buzz is the extensive promotion and marketing by the film team, which went all-out to create a good public awareness about the film's release. Kudos to the 'Avane Srimannarayana' team, as the results are quite clearly visible at the box office.

'Avane Srimannarayana' had around 380 shows in Bangalore on Day 1, and almost 60% of the seats were booked in advance before the day of the release. The film could've had more number of shows, if only the runtime wasn't over 3 hours. The multiplexes are performing comparatively better than the single screens, which is obvious as the film tilts towards the multiplex audience because of its genre. 'Avane Srimannarayana' is bringing-in both the youth and the family audience in the first weekend. Even places like Mangalore have contributed this time, which usually stay low for other big Kannada releases.

The film witnessed a slight growth of around ~10% on Saturday which is actually a good sign, as most of the big opening Kannada films witness a drop in their collections after first day. 'Avane Srimannarayana' is all-set to have a good Sunday, and the first weekend total of the film is going to be over 15 crores. After this excellent 1st weekend, the film's box office hold from Monday will be important, as it will point towards the future course and final box office fate of the film.

Sunday Update: 'Avane Srimannarayana' had a good Sunday, as it collected better than the first two days at the box office. The first weekend (three days) collection stands at 15.75 crores.

End of Week 1 Update: 'Avane Srimannarayana' sustained well in the weekdays to post a good first week total of 27 crores at the box office. The movie took advantage of the New Years occasion, as it's Wednesday collections came close to its first day collections. The second week collections hold the key in deciding the box office fate of the film. As there are no significant new releases this week, 'Avane Srimannarayana' should continue to collect well in its second week as well.

End of 2nd Weekend Update: The film is holding excellently well at the box office even after a high first week business. 'Avane Srimannarayana' made good gains in its second weekend by collecting around ~7.50 crores, which takes the overall 10 days total to a very good 34.50 crores. The drop from first weekend business to second weekend business is only around ~50%, which is very good considering that the collections in the first weekend were at its highest for the film. 'Avane Srimannarayana' added more screens at the start of its second week; an extra 25 properties/theatres.

End of 2nd Week Update: 'Avane Srimannarayana' had a good two weeks' run at the box office. However, the film has notably slowed-down at the end of Week 2. The film will continue to accumulate in its third week as there are no new Kannada releases this week. But, the new films from other industries like 'Darbar', 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' and 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' are going to make life difficult for 'Avane Srimannarayana' at the box office, as those films are going to take away significant number of screens. But, the film has no worries, as it is already a box office success.

End of 3rd Week Update: ASN collected approx 3 crores at the box office in its third week, which takes the overall Kannada version box office total till date to 40 crores. Apart from the original Kannada version, the other dubbed versions are box office flops. The Hindi version did not see the light of the day, and it mostly will not be released. Among the dubbed versions, only the Telugu version did some respectable business, the Malayalam and Tamil versions are box office washouts. Telugu version has collected till date around 1.50 crores, and there will not be any collections above the given figure as the big Sankranti releases 'Darbar', 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' and 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' have taken all the screens away from 'Athade Srimannarayana'.

'Avane Srimannarayana' opened to positive-to-mixed reviews from the critics, and the audience word-of-mouth also slightly leaned towards the positive side as well, going by our audience response samples collected at the multiplexes over the first two days. The most common negative point was the runtime of over 3 hours and the slow pacing of the film.
