'Marjaavaan', the action-drama film featuring actor Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role with Ritiesh Deshmukh playing the negative role of a dwarf antagonist, made its television debut on Saturday 29 February 2020, which is around four months from its initial release at the cinemas. The film was released at the Bollywood box-office on 15 Nov 2019.
'Marjaavaan's first TV broadcast was done on Sony TV network's flagship movie channel, Sony Max. The movie was allotted the prime-time slot of 8 p.m on Saturday. On its TV premiere, 'Marjaavaan' clashed with 'Panipat', which was also telecasted simultaneously with 'Marjaavaan' on another channel. 'Panipat' also saw its TV premiere on the same day and same time on Zee Cinema. 'Marjaavaan' beat 'Panipat' handsomely in the clash of the World TV Premieres. 'Marjaavaan' is also the top movie program of the week with most number of impressions, which is followed by the repeat telecast of Hindi dubbed southern film 'Bahubali: The Beginning'.

On its World TV Premiere, 'Marjaavaan' generated quite a good response from the TV audience. According to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), 'Marjaavaan' gathered around 54.93 lakh viewership impressions on its first telecast on Sony Max. In comparison, Ayushman Khurana's recent World TV Premiere of 'Bala' had gathered 56.78 lakh impressions, and 'Dream Girl' had got 47.76 lakh impressions, Ranveer Singh's 'Gully Boy' had got 52.08 lakh impressions and Akshay Kumar's 'Mission Mangal' had got 56.96 lakh impressions on their respective TV premieres.
